\u00bfQu\u00e9 es lo documental? \u00bfUn lenguaje, una econom\u00eda, una tradici\u00f3n? En esta franja especial de la 26 MIDBO, proponemos otra posibilidad: lo documental es un gesto que puede aparecer en cualquier pel\u00edcula interesada intensamente por los cuerpos, las voces, los lugares y las cosas de la realidad. Es el cine mismo cuando est\u00e1 volcado a cumplir una de sus vocaciones iniciales: la del registro. Y con las derivas ensay\u00edsticas del cine documental, lo documental es tambi\u00e9n la reflexi\u00f3n sobre ese registro, la autoconciencia sobre el medio de expresi\u00f3n cinematogr\u00e1fico. Hoy celebramos la inocencia de las primeras im\u00e1genes de cine porque somos conscientes de que es irrecuperable.<\/span><\/p>

En el cine colombiano, las tradiciones de la ficci\u00f3n y el documental encontraron puntos de confluencia en la atenci\u00f3n a realidades sociales como la violencia o la pobreza, y en el inter\u00e9s por el territorio y quienes lo habitan. El cine colombiano de ficci\u00f3n, en las \u00faltimas d\u00e9cadas, nos acostumbr\u00f3 a un estilo documental con escenas en las que predomin\u00f3 una impresi\u00f3n de realidad. Esto se da, principalmente, por unos modos de producci\u00f3n y filmaci\u00f3n que privilegian a actores no profesionales (algunos de ellos vinculados de forma directa con los lugares en los que se filma) y al tipo de locaciones escogidas. <\/span>Pepos<\/span><\/i> (1983), la pel\u00edcula de culto de Jorge Aldana, es una muestra de estos procedimientos y por eso \u2014entre otras razones\u2014 proponemos incorporarla tambi\u00e9n a la tradici\u00f3n de nuestro cine documental.<\/span><\/p>

En <\/span>Small Hours of the Night<\/span><\/i>, un dispositivo ficcional \u2014el espacio en el que sucede un interrogatorio\u2014 sirve como lugar de emergencia para que salgan a la luz los traumas de la historia de Singapur. El archivo, com\u00fanmente asociado a la prueba o la verificaci\u00f3n, se pone en escena o se dramatiza. Ficci\u00f3n y documental se entrelazan y cooperan, pues lo que importa es el trazo de verdad que deja un gesto, la huella de este gesto en la realidad. Lo documental es quiz\u00e1 una forma que tiene el cine de estar presente en la realidad y, con esa presencia, modificar lo real.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>
